Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly's philosophy, programs and activities are focused on alleviating loneliness among older adults in Chicago. The need for social interaction is critical to the human spirit - we believe that nurturing the soul is as important as feeding the body. The holidays are a time to gather together and enjoy the warmth of true friendship and appreciation. Come join LBFE and bring a special holiday gift or Christmas Day meal to an isolated older person!
Bring a special holiday gift: Volunteers bring a special gift to an elder's home during the month of December and visit in-person for 30-60 minutes. Gifts are picked up at LBFE's HQ at 355 N Ashland Ave. Commitment is roughly 2-3 hours, as volunteers will contact elders to schedule a visit in advance.
Bring a meal on Christmas Day: Volunteers would see 2-3 elders and bring a special holiday meal to their home on Christmas Day and visit in-person for 30-60 minutes. Meals are picked up at LBFE's HQ at 355 N Ashland Ave. between 9 AM - 11 AM. Volunteers can also bring family and friends! Commitment is roughly 2-3 hours.
Contact Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly today to make an impact in an older person's life! Attendance at an orientation session is required.
