The U.S. Department of Agriculture recently announced that Illinois residents who receive federal food aid will not receive their November benefits due to the ongoing federal shutdown. This decision will directly affect many survivors of domestic violence and their families.

SNAP benefits are a vital source of consistent food assistance, especially for families rebuilding stability after abuse. At Anew: Building Beyond Violence and Abuse, we are preparing to help our clients bridge this critical gap — but we need your support.
