UNITED WAY NEIGHBORHOOD NETWORK INITIATIVE - NEW NETWORK LAUCH
Press Conference & Community Event
United Way of Metro Chicago, in partnership with Cook County, is celebrating the expansion of the Neighborhood Network Initiative and transformative investment in suburban Summit with a press and community event on July 19, 2024.
The event will include two parts:
1. A press conference with remarks from Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, United Way of Metro Chicago President & CEO Sean Garrett, and others.
2. Right after the press conference we will host a community event for families who live in the Village of Summit. The community event will include: bike helmet fittings & giveaways, bike rodeo (obstacle course, bike skills stations, etc), crafts for children (coloring; bike helmet decorating), community resource fair, and packaged snacks.
We are looking for assistance with: setting up tables & chairs, helping children with bike helmet fittings, overseeing stations at the bike rodeo, overseeing the children's craft tables, overseeing the refreshment tables, directing traffic, clean-up at the end. There will be volunteer spots available both indoors and outdoors, and some activities can be completed sitting down. Instructions for each station will be provided. Set-up: 9:00am-10:30am; Guest Networking/Press conference: 10:30-11:45am; Community event: 12:00-2:00pm; Breakdown & clean-up: 2:00-3:00pm. Thank you for your consideration!
