Gifts from Liam is looking for a volunteer to assist us in keeping our warehouse organized and inventory of incoming and outgoing up to date!

The volunteer will assist us in:

- maintaining an accurate count of incoming donations, diaper bundles ready for distribution, and outgoing donations using our inventory management system

- keeping track of availability of supplies & alerting to when more need to be ordered

- preparing partner orders for distribution 

- recording incoming donations: who, how many, when

- warehouse organization: ensuring all items are stored in their respective places

This is an ongoing need. We hope to find someone who is available at least twice a month for 2-5 hours for a prolonged period (ideally 4+ months). There is no set schedule and can work with your availability.

Gifts from Liam needs your help to pick up and deliver diaper donations!

Our partner donation and distribution sites are located throughout Chicagoland. Primarily in the South Suburban region and South and West Sides of Chicago. We would like a driver available to pick up/drop off donations 1-4 times per month on average. Ideally, the driver is willing to travel to any of the partner sites, but if a designated region is preferred, that can work!

Ideally, delivery drivers are licensed and have access to a reliable insured vehicle and can go up and down stairs and lift up to 50 pounds. 

The drop off/delivery schedule is TBD and can be based upon your availability.

Community Events and Diaper Giveaways:

Engage in communicating the mission of GFL to event attendees

Collect attendee's information where/if necessary (documents/device will be provided)

Actively engage with families in need that may approach the table

Sorting, packing, or wrapping diapers and other basic needs items

Take photos for our digital platforms (the device will be provided)

Distribute packaged items 

• Is a member of the Advisory Board
• Attends 75% of Advisory Board meetings and important related meetings
• Makes a commitment to participate actively in committee work
• Volunteers for and willingly accepts assignments and completes them thoroughly and on time
• Stays informed about committee matters, prepares for meetings, and reviews/comments on minutes and reports
• Collaborates with committee members and builds a collegial working relationship that contributes to GFL
• Is an active participant in the nominating committee’s annual evaluation and planning efforts
• Plays a leading role in fundraising activities
• Participates and serves on at least one Advisory Board Standing Committee
• Enlists financial support of $500 either through organizations, grants, event sponsorships, ticket sales, or
individual donations
• Makes a two (2) year commitment
